Ray our host was a fantastic facilitator for my 60th birthday murder mystery adventure. We all had a fantastic night with a lot of laughter right from the start. We had a fairly mixed age group from 18 to 60+ and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night and were drawn in to the game. A brilliant start to our stay in Westport. Harry made the organising so easy. I would throughly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun night. We were still laughing about it at the end of our holiday.

Fab murder mystery weekend away in Mayo! Bridget and Harry were wonderful hosts from the start and the Foxford Lodge is the perfect home away from home for a weekend filled with fun and games, great food and a cosy fire during this cold stormy February. I loved their attention to detail and the decor in the house. Thanks too to Olivia for all the prep work and to Brendan for a great night!

I wanted to thank you for organizing such a fabulous night for us, the whole team really enjoyed it and I’ve heard nothing but positive feedback from them. The scene was expertly put together and the surprises during the night certainly kept us on our toes and there were some hilarious moments. Brendan was an excellent facilitator, he ran the whole evening perfectly, took full control of the situation and it ran so smoothly and professionally and his enthusiasm was definitely infectious. For me organizing the event it has been such a pleasure to deal with such a professional and capable company, you clearly have a lot of experience running these events and that certainly is very evident with how seamlessly and stress free it has been.
I will certainly be letting the entire company here know about the night and recommending that they take a look at yourselves for any team events that they may have coming up.
Thanks again, I really hope that we get to do another event in the future.
Best Regards Emer

“We laughed non stop from the moment we stepped foot in the Foxford Lodge until we arrived back in Dublin. The entire drive home we spent reminiscing over the antics of the weekend.”

May I apologise again for not being in contact earlier and please pass on our compliments to Ray.

We had a brilliant weekend. We were anxious to have an event that would allow all family members to be involved and we couldn’t have made a better choice. Everybody from the oldest (83) to the youngest (11) embraced it, and I don’t think we ever laughed as much. We also saw dimensions to family members that were previously hidden and some we thought were introverted definitely gave us a big surprise which of course added to the fun. The costumes were fantastic and surely got everyone in the mood from the very beginning.

Our facilitator Ray was marvellous. He prompted us along and kept the whole thing going with his quick wit and enthusiasm. We could not have asked for better.

As organiser I was concerned that it might not work but It worked better than I could ever have imagined and we will have memories that will live with us forever. My only regret is that we didn’t take more photographs but in a way that might have interrupted the flow.

Thanks to Harry and particularly Olivia for their professional organisation. Everything was ready for us on our arrival and Olivia remained un flustered when I came up with a last minute hiccup (families!!) I could not recommend Murder mystery Ireland any higher

Best wishes, Marie

Apologies for leaving it so long but I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your help. Everyone had a brilliant time at the hen. Everything went perfectly. The accommodation was ideal and the food was delicious all weekend. The actual event itself was so much fun. The girls are still talking about it!! And the co-ordinator Brendan was brilliant. He’s really good at getting everyone involved. Overall the experience was of a very professional and well organised event. I can’t speak highly enough of you and your team. I will definitely be recommending Murder Mystery Ireland to anyone who will listen!! Thanks again.

Kind regards, Lorraine Bambrick

I am just mailing to send a HUGE thanks to you for the amazing ‘Murder Mystery’ we did last weekend in Ashley Park House. It was absolutely brilliant from beginning to end. The outfits were fantastic and really made the activity as it was just hilarious. Ger, the facilitator was great and explained everything really clearly. It was so well planned out and every detail has been thought out. Thanks so much again and I will be recommending you to everyone!
Warm Regards, Joeanna

I am only getting around to emailing you now as I have been very busy, I just want to say thank you so much for all your help in organising the murder mystery for my sister’s hen party, we had a fantastic weekend and the hen loved it which was the main thing. Bridget and harry were a great help from organising the transport to go to town for shopping and collecting us when we had a night out. The breakfasts and buffet was beautiful and the murder mystery game was brilliant fun. We will definitely consider coming back in the future for another stay.

Thanks again, Laura Mallon

Long Lost Friends go West for Weekend Away!  – Jane Moran, Tipperary

We definitely started 2015 off right by staying at the Foxford Lodge.  We were a very small group but that was no bother to Harry and Brigid they were so accommodating.  We had the warmest welcome and we felt like we made long time friends when we left.  Thank you, thank you Harry, Brigid & staff for making this the best weekend.  We definitely will come back this summer for a bank holiday weekend away.  Because of our small group they offered us one of their cottages.  For friends that hadn’t seen each other in years – it was wonderful.  We give the Foxford Lodge a great recommendation for those that want something so unique and different.  You will want to make it a stop at least once a year as there are so many things to do.  See you soon.

Murder Mystery Game at our location in Dublin –

I just wanted to send you an email to say Thank you for organising the costumes for some of my family for our party on Saturday. I must say we all really enjoyed it and will definately be making a trip to the lodge in Foxford in the future for a fun filled weekend!!!

The game went so well and my sister the Hen loved it !! I have to say that our co-ordinator Brendan really made our day, he was so funny and got us all really involved in the game, and the fact that he was from Mayo may have helped a little!!! I can not sing his praises enough and if we were to book a weekend would definitely request to have Brendan involved!

Had an amazing weekend at Foxford Lodge! We couldn’t have asked for better accommodation, hospitality or food…tailor-made breakfasts each morning! Harry, Brigid and all the staff were lovely and made us feel so welcome. We felt so at home that we practically took over the place and just made it ours for the weekend! Karaoke was so much fun as was the Murder Mystery, can’t remember when I last laughed so much! Big thanks to Ray the game facilitator for making it a great evening. Dinner at the secret location was also delicious. Cannot recommend this venue or package highly enough, thoroughly enjoyed myself and it all added to making my hen weekend extra special!
Anita Doris – Belfast,“My Hen Party!!” 5 of 5 stars

9 other girls and myself, stayed at the Foxford lodge for a hen party weekend in March. We all had an amazing time. The package offered a karaoke night, buffet, breakfast each morning, murder mystery game and three course meal. They also arranged transport when we needed it. Harry and Bridget looked after our every need, and could not do enough or us. It was a really good laid back and fun atmosphere! The food was amazing, and Harry and Bridget where very flexible! With the murder mystery game we laughed from start to finish. and Ray who was running it was brilliant as well! The foxford lodge was so homely and very clean! I would definitely recommend it as a great hen party idea! All together there is not one thing i could complain about it, Great value for money, and guaranteed a really good time.

“Great Easter weekend”

Just to thank everyone for our wonderful M/M event.  We had so much fun and for what was included it is definitely great value. Organisation was brilliant and Olivia responded very quickly every time I had questions.  We stayed in the Railway Cottage which was amazing, so clean, comfortable and spacious for the 6 of us.  Harry and Brigid delivered an amzing cooked breakfast to the Cottage each morning and were there for anything we needed. The game was absolutely brilliant, everyone really got into character and our facilitator Ray was great at getting a laugh out of things we said or did.  He explained the game very well and made us feel relaxed throughout.  The M/M dinner was delicious and a great choice on the menu.  The bus was timely and the driver so accommodating.  They also arranged a small bus for going out on the town after we changed out of costume, and the price was very reasonable.  I am recommending to all my friends and I will definitely be coming back soon!   THANK YOU !!!
Nicola R – I will definitely be coming back soon!

Have just returned from a weekend in The Foxford Lodge. Trip advisor reports certainely do it justice. The lodge was great, very comfortable and spacious. When we arrived the fire was roaring which was greatly appreicated given the weather conditions outside. There was also a fully stocked fridge with a great selection of wine and beer and best of all a really sincere and warm welcome from our hosts Harry and Brigid. The Murder mystery package we took was excellent value for money and included so much. Harry and Brigid and their 3 children looked after us great. On Friday night they providing us with a great Chinese Take Away, followed by a fresh and hearty breakfast on Saturday and Sunday Morning – compliments to Brigid on her homemade bread and excellent breakfast choice. They had great local knowledge and seemed to “get” what the weekend tourist was looking for. Harry gave us great advice on what to do during our short stay in Foxford. The lodge is ideal for a group of people as it has a very spacious living room well equipped with TV, Fridge, Karayoke Machine, Mood Lighting, Guitars!!! Tea Coffee Facilities and an ice machine. They really thought of everything for a spontaneous party. Foxford is a little off the beaten track but its a lovely quaint village, a trip to the Wollen mills and a walk along the River Moy is to be reccommended, Harry and Brigid provided a minibus service for everywhere we wanted to go. The murder mystery was great fun, would definitely reccommend hiring the costumes as they add to the overall enjoyment of the night. All in all a great weekend – Highly reccommended.
“Top Notch”   – Mary Fennin

Weekend was a huge success largely due to the excellent organisation – all WE had to think about was enjoying ourselves. It was excellent value for money. The ‘mystery venue’ really set the scene for a Murder Mystery. It was old school and had charm and the staff were most helpful. The Murder Mystery facilitator just blended in with us all and had such authority and good humour that everyone went along with the games, so much so that the negotiations on ‘who dunnit’ were very lively!! Huge thanks to everyone concerned, we will be recommending it to anyone who will listen.

“5 couples for a murder-mystery weekend” – cjohn5, Wicklow  – 5 of 5 stars

We arrived at the Foxford lodge on Friday night for a murder-mystery weekend. We were a group of 5 couples. Brigid and Harry were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Location was great and the value-for-money was superb. On the Saturday night we had the Murder-Mystery night which was great fun. Everything about the weekend was hassle-free and I couldn’t say a bad word about the place. (NB) It is actually positioned wrongly on the TripAdvisor map as it is about 300mts before the railway crossing on right, driving out of town on the Pontoon road. travelled with friends

“Excellent Excellent Excellent!” 5 of 5 stars –  kerry80Ireland, Dublin

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with such hospitality and warmth. The house could not have been nicer, breakfast was delicious and the owners Brigid & Harry were fantastic hosts. Can not fault this place & would go again! Stayed November 2012, travelled with friends

“Work Party 5* quality”  5 of 5 stars  –  kiernan1988, Dublin

hi I recently visted the lodge with a work party. From the minute we set foot in the Lodge we were all so impressed- the big open fire, bar, cleanliess, amazing en-suite bedrooms and the real warmth and comfort in the house. Everything you can think off is catered for. Harry and Brigid were lovely and friendly and could not do anymore for us. Food was lovely and very well presented . We did not want to go home, but non of us have hesitation about returning and hope we can think of another event just to return! Stayed October 2012, travelled with friends

“Hens Party”     – conwaysiobhan, Dublin

I have to say, from reading the reviews before I went. I thought this place was too good to be true. However the place surpassed itself and that was mainly due to Harry and Brigid. Harry and Brigid welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and if they even just heard us mention something it was there for the next time we needed it. They are so hospitable and friendly you just don’t want to leave and go home. The rooms are so spacious and spotless. Every detail makes you feel so comfortable and like you are actually home rather than in a hotel. The breakfast is to die for and even come with the most amazing homemade bread. We had a celiac with us and Harry and Brigid made sure she had her dietary required bread. Even when the rest of us went to the local shops for sandwiches. Harry and Brigid made sure Catriona had some bread to make her own sandwich with. Which I thought was such a lovely and sweet gesture. I am defiantly going to go back for my 30th next year. I’m so happy to have had the chance to experience such lovely people and a beautiful hotel.

“Wonderful Stay”- jackal09, Galway

My sisters Hen party was in the Foxford Lodge in Feb this year We had the most wonderful stay – the Lodge is really great – so clean , bright and modern – we had wonderful food and our hosts were top notch – The murder mystery is great fun – some of the gang were great actors so the less inclined could let them shine !! Followed by a night out in Ballina – great fun Would recommend this as a great weekend for a hen party – and the lodge is a great place to stay for a family for any occasion Stayed February 2012, travelled with friends

There is nothing they have not thought of.

Stayed in the Foxford lodge with a Hen party of 10 girls and did the murder mystery package! Wonderful time had by all. The whole package was superb value for money. The Lodge is wonderfully decorated and the super clean facilities are all modern. Harry and Brigid are brilliant hosts and couldn’t have done enough for us. Friendly homely warm welcome and stay. The food was top notch and run like clockwork. We had a blast. None suspected that the hen would turn out to be a serial murderer. Would stay here again without question. Was so sad to be leaving….highly recommend a visit to the Lodge…u won’t be disappointed!

Hen Party!

I organised my sister’s hen party for 16 of us, Harry and Bridget welcomed us and showed us to our rooms on the Friday night. The lodge was spotless and very welcoming. They offered tea and coffee and to order and collect a Chinese takeaway. They lit the turf fire and made the lodge so homely for us. On the second night we went to the Murder Mystery game which was great craic, one of the party arrived late and Harry went out of his way and gave her a lift to the hotel. They organised the communal area so we could have a drinks reception for the hen and also set up the karaoke machine for us for after the night club. The breakfast was delicious and catered for everyone’s needs including celiacs and vegetarians. On the Sunday they gave us directions for walks. I cannot thank them enough for facilitating the hen party and looking after us so so well. I would recommend the lodge to family and friends for any get away holiday. It is worth a trip to Mayo just to stay with Brigid and Harry.

“Brilliant weekend!”

I’m just home from a weekend away at Foxford Lodge with nine other girls and all I can say is what a weekend!! We were made very welcome as soon as we arrived with tea and biscuits. We were then shown to our rooms which, like the rest of the house, was spotlessly clean. Later we had a chinese buffet which was delicious! We all relaxed in the lounge and had drinks and it wasn’t long at all until we were singing our hearts out until the early morning on the karoke machine!!! There was a great selection of songs and also a flashing spot light!!! You can bring your own drink and there was a fridge and ice-making machine there also. There was tea making facilities also. Breakfast the next morning was delicious with homemade bread, a grill/fry of your choice, juice and cereals. We opted not to do the water painting class which was 35 euro extra and went into Castlebar for a look around instead. We came back to change and have some drinks before being picked up at ten to 5 to go to our secret location for the Murder Mystery. The costumes were of very high quality and Brigid offered to alter/change them if you were not happy. The Murder Mystery was great fun and Ray who was in charge was very enthusiastic and kept the show on track! We breaked for a four course meal in the middle, which we all agreed was delicious. The bus picked us up again at about half 10 and we had the choice to go out or to go home. You are allowed to wear your costume out for the night if you wish! This weekend is great value for money, is really well run and really is just a very entertaining weekend, whether it be for a hen or just for an exciting weekend away with a difference!
